“Online feminist discourse on the occasion of the group ‘Feministika Paralirimata'”
This thesis attempts to highlight the discourses that the subjects of the digital feminist group “Feministika Paralirimata” develop about sexual harassment and female subordination. In addition, the conditions for the formation of a sense of safety within the group, both on the part of the members and the management team, are explored. To examine the above issues, 654 anonymous posts and 76 in-group comments between May 2020 and April 2021 were analysed. The analysis shows that the experiences of group members and the discussions generated about them in the comments illuminate complex aspects of gender-based violence that go beyond oversimplified media approaches. In this context, the Feministika Paralirimata group works encouragingly because it offers a safe space regulated by both the management team and the members, in both cases focusing on the acceptance and support of the subjects who make “their traumas” visible.
